Miku Sato is a Japanese artist based in Amsterdam.
Born in Kanagawa, Sato studied in the Oil Painting Department at Musashino Art University in Tokyo and later completed a Master’s degree in Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts. Shortly after, she moved to the Netherlands in 2019 as a fellow of the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists.
Working across video installations and performances, her research-based practice is rooted in the history of occupation and colonialism latent within sites and communities. She explores storytelling as a way to interject alternative annotations between the past and the present, bridging them toward the future. By weaving multiple timelines together, her work stands as a resistance to forgetting, creating a space to reflect on the essence of coexisting within difference.
Her work has been exhibited and screened internationally, including the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2023), the Hiroshima International Film Festival (2023), and the Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition (2023) at Hong-Gah Museum.

佐藤未来 さとうみく
アムステルダム（オランダ）を拠点に活動するアーティスト。
神奈川県に生まれ、武蔵野美術大学造形学部油絵学科を卒業後、東京藝術大学大学院映像研究科メディア映像専攻修士課程を修了。その後まもなく、 2019年に文化庁新進芸術家海外研修制度の研修員として渡蘭。
地域やコミュニティに堆積する占領や植民地の歴史に関するリサーチを起点に、映像表現やパフォーマンスなどを横断する実践を行っている。過去と現在の間にオルタナティブな注釈を差し込み、未来へと繋ぐ手法として、ストーリーテリングの可能性を探求。複数の時間軸を編み込むその試みは、忘却への抵抗であり、異なりながらも共存することを省察する。
作品は、ロッテルダム国際映画祭（2023年）、広島国際映画祭（2023年）、台湾国際ビデオアート展（鳳甲美術館、2023年）など、国内外で展示・上映されている。
