Miku Sato is interested in the ideological, geo-political, economic aspect of ‘The Olympic Games’. Researching the past games, She came across to Amsterdam 1928 Summer Olympics. For the first time at this Olympics, women were allowed to compete in gymnastics. In response to the scheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympic games, she made this work “Girls Got Gold”. It is about a Jewish gymnast survivor, who was a member of the national team of the Amsterdam 1928 Summer Olympics. Out of five team Jewish members, four were killed by the Nazi during WW II. In this film, the only survivor is featured and she retells her story through her granddaughter.
